Finance for non financial managers

    Managers at Oxford Brookes University.

    The format of the programme:

    Half-day workshop.

    This very practical and interactive workshop will address two key aspects of finance for non-financial managers at Brookes:

    • How does University finance work and what do you need to know about it?
    • How do you manage your budget at Brookes?

    Topics covered include:

    • Overview of how finance works at Brookes and the financial year
    • Financial Regulations and how they impact finance at Brookes
    • Constructing and managing a budget
    • Procurement issues  

    The course includes discussion, group activities and quizzes to help your learning. 

    Method:

    The course will use a mixture of instruction, discussion and practical activities. 

    Participants should bring calculators to the course; other materials will be provided.

    The course will run from 9.30 am until 12.30 pm with a mid-morning coffee and tea break.

    Cancellation fee:

    If you are unable to attend a course we require 5 working days' notice of non-attendance, otherwise a cancellation charge of £50 will be made for each day of a course (or part thereof).
