  • Who is it for?

    This workshop is suitable for anyone in a line management role, whether you are currently dealing with sickness absence issues or not.

    Course content:

    This course is designed to give managers the tools and techniques to better manage sickness absence as well as raise awareness of the support available. Jointly facilitated by Human Resources and Occupational Health, you will better understand your role as the line manager is dealing with issues involving sickness absence, how and when to involve Occupational Health and when support/intervention is also needed from Human Resources.

    Learning objectives:

    • how the managing absence from work due to ill-health policy should be applied in real terms;
    • understand the practical relationships between line manager, their absent (sick) team member, Occupational Health and Human Resources and
    • how to support absent staff in returning to work from illness.

    Cancellation fee:

    If you are unable to attend a course we require 5 working days' notice of non-attendance, otherwise a cancellation charge of £50 will be made for each day of a course (or part thereof).
