Dominic Wood

An Oxford Brookes graduate has been named as one of the most inspirational UK entrepreneurs under 30.

Free Office Finder has been celebrating the UK’s best young business talent who are yet to turn 30 including Dominic Wood who graduated in 2012 after studying a master’s in Construction Project Management.

Aged 23, Dominic bought the Maytime Inn in the Cotswold village of Asthall and worked to renovate the building and rebuild its reputation. The Maytime is now a 4-star hotel and thriving business thanks to Dominic’s entrepreneurial flair.

Speaking about the recognition and how his degrees have helped him in his career so far, Dominic said: “It’s amazing to be recognised as a top entrepreneur when all I have done is open a business doing what I am passionate about.

Overall the master’s has helped more with learning to plan, budget and execute projects. I also picked up some transferable skills that have been helpful with running the company.

“The master’s certainly helped when organising the various refurbishment projects we have done and the planning degree helped my confidence in planning future projects at The Maytime.
