Oxford Brookes rises by seven places in The Guardian University Guide 2018

Oxford Brookes has climbed seven places in this year’s The Guardian University Guide and has seven subject areas listed in the top 20 in the UK.

Among the seven subjects, four were listed in the top ten including Journalism, Publishing and Public Relations (3), Philosophy (4), Art (4) and Hospitality, Event Management and Tourism (5). Also ranked highly were courses relating to Architecture (13), Health Professions (13) and Anthropology (18).

This year’s ranking saw Oxford Brookes improve on the spend per student and student:staff ratio criteria and has helped the University to reach the top 50 institutions.Brendan Casey, Registrar and Chief Operating Officer said: “As a University we remain committed to providing an excellent student experience and the improvement in this year’s Guardian University Guide is due to the expertise and dedication of our excellent students and staff.

Earlier this month, Oxford Brookes was ranked in the top 20 UK institutions for nine subject areas in The Complete University Guide. 

In April, Oxford Brookes was once again named as one of the world’s best “young universities” by THE and retained its top ten world ranking for its Global MBA programme. In both of these rankings, Oxford Brookes performed particularly well in its ability to attract international students.
