Ruth Caleb OBE, Honorary Graduate Lecture
Ruth will take a close look at the process of making drama for television and the cinema, reflecting upon The Last Days of Lehman Brothers, A short stay in Switzerland, Walter’s War and Bullet Boy. She will investigate issues such as…
- What works, what doesn’t and why…
- How do you pick the ‘must do’ project?
- How do you pick the right writer?
- How do you arrive at the budget?
- What happens when the leading actor pulls out at the last minute - or when the writer and director come to blows?
Everything (well almost) you need to know to stay afloat in the film and television business.
Ruth Caleb OBE, is an Executive Producer/Producer with BBC Drama. She has made numerous dramas for television and cinema, including the Judge John Deed series and A short stay in Switzerland. Her many awards include BAFTAs and the Prix Italia.
