Lord Stone retired from his position as joint Managing Director of Marks & Spencer in 1999 and now focuses on trying to create understanding and peace in the Middle East and developing his deep interest in Arts and Science. He is involved with several charities including DIPEx of which he is Chair and is currently Director of two UK companies including Sindicatum Carbon Capital.
