In 1999 Bill Dunster designed the Beddington Zero Energy Development (BedZED) for The Peabody Trust. Built on the site of a former water treatment works, BedZED is an environmentally friendly, energy-efficient mix of housing and work space. The development has won a range of awards, including the RIBA Sustainability Award, and was short-listed for the Stirling Prize.
