David Watson

David Watson has contributed widely to developments in UK higher education, as a teacher, researcher, administrator and member of national bodies. His academic interests are in the history of ideas and in higher education policy, on which he has published extensively. He was Dean of the Modular Course and then Deputy Director at Oxford Brookes between 1981 and 1990, before moving to the University of Brighton, where he was Vice-Chancellor until 2005. He is now Professor of Higher Education Management at the Institute of Education, University of London.
