Frances Dominica

Sister Frances Dominica trained as a nurse at the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street and at the Middlesex Hospital, London. In 1982 she founded the world’s first children’s hospice, Helen House. Just over 20 years later, she founded a second hospice, Douglas House, which offers respite and terminal care to people within the 16 - 40 age group. Sister Frances is a trustee of both these Oxford-based hospices, and the current Deputy Lieutenant of the County of Oxfordshire.
