Hugo Brunner

Sir Hugo Brunner served as Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire from 1996 to 2008.

In that role he founded the Oxfordshire Blue Plaques scheme; initiated the idea of of a building in Oxford for charities, realised by his successor ( and Chairman of the Governors of Brookes, 2004-8), Tim Stevenson and his wife Marion; and raised the money to erect a memorial, in the University Church, Oxford, to those who died for their religious beliefs in the Reformation centuries.
