Johannes Stüttgen is an artist with a special interest in social sculpture and interdisciplinary art practices. During the 1960s he studied under Joseph Beuys, and the two artists continued to work together until Beuys’ death in 1986. Ongoing social sculpture projects Johannes has initiated include Art and Economy Expanded and the Omnibus for Direct Democracy, which has involved millions of people in social sculpture processes. Johannes is patron of the Social Sculpture Research Unit in the Art Department at Oxford Brookes.
