In 1999 Toby Blackwell retired from his position as Chairman and Director of Blackwell Limited. During his 40 years with the Oxford-based book retailer, he led the company to its position as a global information business with an annual turnover in excess of £450m and a worldwide workforce of more than 3,000. On his retirement, Toby accepted Oxford Brookes’ invitation to become Co-Chair of the University’s fund-raising appeal, Partnerships for the Future.
