Sir Muir Gray has worked in public health for 35 years. He helped pioneer Britain’s breast and cervical cancer screening programmes and was knighted in 2005 for the development of the foetal, maternal and child screening programme and the creation of the National Library for Health.
In 2002 he was responsible for the creation of the health service’s National Knowledge Service, becoming Chief Knowledge Officer of the NHS in 2007. Currently, he is Professor of Knowledge Management, University of Oxford, and Director of both the charity Knowledge into Action, and Better Value Healthcare Ltd. He is also Consultant in Public Health at the Oxford Radcliffe Trust.
