Neil Ashley is a successful businessman who, for eight years, was a member of the Oxford Brookes Board of Governors and University Court and Chair of our Audit Committee.
He has also been a substantial benefactor of the University, having given generously to support both sport, in particular rowing, and our School of Health and Social Care.
In a 45-year career in the construction industry, initially as a civil engineer, he has been Group Chief Executive AMEY plc and joint Managing Director of Balfour Beatty plc and ARC Ltd, and continues to take leading roles with a number of companies, public sector bodies and charities. In addition to being the immediate past Chairman of Oxford Radcliffe Hospital Trust, he is presently Chairman of The Oxford Cancer Campaign and Occtopus (Oxford Colon Cancer Charity) and continues to take a Non Executive role in other companies and other major charities.
