Peter Bagnall retired as Managing Director of WH Smith plc in 1988 and became an independent governor of the former Oxford Polytechnic in the same year. In 1993 he became Chair of the Board of Governors at Oxford Brookes University, a role he held until his retirement in 1998. A former Director of Oxfordshire Health Authority, Peter has also chaired the Oxford Radcliffe Hospital NHS Trust.
He is a Deputy Lieutenant of Oxfordshire.
