Sir Richard Eyre was Artistic Director of the Royal National Theatre between 1987 and 1997 - a period he chronicles in his published diary, National Service. In recent years, he has directed several feature films, including the Oscar-winning Iris, which he co-wrote. His many awards include the Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement.
