Richard Howard
Honorary fellowship
Year conferred: 2003
In January 2005 Richard Howard retired from the post of Principal Adviser for Schools and Head of the School Development Service in Oxfordshire. His interests in education were school improvement and teachers' professional development, interests that reflected his belief that, if given the chance, children can and do perform wonders. Involved with 'initial teacher' and 'serving teacher' programmes at Oxford Brookes, Richard was committed to the partnership between the University and Oxfordshire's schools. Richard is currently Chair of the National Education Trust.
