Professor Sir Richard Southwood

Richard Southwood is Emeritus Professor of Zoology at the University of Oxford. A life-long naturalist, Sir Richard founded and chaired the Division of Life Sciences at Imperial College London before coming to Oxford in 1969. He is a former chair of the Trustees of the British Museum (Natural History) and of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution. His latest book, The Story of Life, was published in 2002 and came out in paperback in 2003.
Richard died in 2005.
