Sara Thornton CBE

Sara Thornton is Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police and has made a significant contribution both nationally and locally to law enforcement, public order and wider social policy and practice.
Sara is a Vice Chair of the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and holds a ministerial appointment as Director of the Police National Assessment Centre. In 2006, she was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal. Sara is a member of several influential bodies, including Oxford Brookes University’s Court.
Sara has been directly involved with Brookes students in a number of projects, which are of great value to our students, staff and stakeholders.
She was awarded a CBE in the New Year's Honours List in January 2011 for services to the police
