Professor Stuart Hall

Stuart Hall was born in Jamaica and studied at Merton College, Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. Formerly Director of the Centre for Cultural Studies at the University of Birmingham (1968–1979), he is currently Professor of Sociology at the Open University. Amongst his many ancillary roles Stuart has served as a member of the Commission on the Future of Multi-Ethnic Britain.
