Professor Svetla Gentcheva-Kostadinova

Svetla Gencheva-Kostadinova is an expert in soil sciences based in Sofia, Bulgaria. At a time when east-west interaction was still unusual, Svetla came to the UK to advise the former Oxford Polytechnic on a tree planting project in the Welsh valleys. Her expertise proved invaluable, and this marked the start of a long standing collaboration through which the Polytechnic and Oxford Brookes University worked with Svetla on British Council-funded projects in Bulgaria.
