Writer and broadcaster Yasmin Alibhai-Brown came to the UK from Uganda in 1972. She became a journalist after studying at Oxford and was awarded an MBE for services to journalism in 2001. Two years later she returned the award as a protest against the war in Iraq. In addition to her writing credits, Yasmin is President of the Institute of Family Therapy.
She returned to Oxford Brookes on 5th May 2010 to give a lecture as an Honorary Graduate in the Public Lecture Series.
