Zhiquan Chen is the Permanent Honorary President, Guangdong Real Estate Society, China.
He gained his first degree in Hebei University in 1960 and then went on to pursue his career in construction in the Guangdong Province, China.
He was first a practising civil engineer in the construction industry and later became the head of the Guangdong Provincial Construction Committee, the industry regulator. Zhiquan's work at the Guangdong Provincial Construction Committee made a remarkable contribution to the development of real estate industry in China, now a key industry in the Chinese economy.
Zhiyuan is also an academic and an artist. He has published several books on real estate, green construction and urban development, and is a highly regarded artist in Chinese calligraphy.
