Annual Fine Art Degree Show continues its success
The public, students and staff flocked to the Fine Art Degree Show to see inspiring pieces created by third year Fine Art students.
Works by 35 artists were on display in the Richard Hamilton Building, made of various materials including silk and dust, as well as more traditional materials like paint and oil, representing a wide range of themes such as life, death, science, personal expression and family relationships.
The show began on Friday 13 May with a private evening viewing, before opening to the public on Saturday 14 May and running until Sunday 21 May.
One of the guests who attended the private viewing was sculptor Richard Wentworth, professor and head of the sculpture department of the Royal College of Arts, who made a speech in which he talked about how much he enjoyed the evening and commented on the talent of the Brookes artists.
Richard said: “I want to congratulate you all on evidently belonging to yourselves and being in the company of exceptional people…who are genuinely collegial, which is a good feat."
