Brookes adhesives expert on Radio 4
Professor Allan Hutchinson, Head of Brookes’ Joining Technology Research Centre, was interviewed recently for Radio 4’s ‘Connect’: a series exploring the application of technology.
The programme featuring Professor Hutchinson was broadcast on Wednesday 12 September, and was entitled ‘Glue’. In it Quentin Cooper explores how adhesives are increasingly being used in every area of our lives, from NASA technology to human tissue surgery.

Professor Allan Hutchinson joined Brookes in 1987. His core research is on adhesive and sealant technologies for a wide variety of industrial applications. He has nearly 80 refereed publications and has authored or co-authored four books, several chapters in books, and a number of design guides. Professor Hutchinson is involved in national and international committee work, has presented his research around the world.
