Praise for Brookes in league table
Oxford Brookes has climbed six places in the latest Independent newspaper league table thanks to strong ratings for graduate employment and investment in academic facilities.
The Independent’s Complete University Guide ranks the UK’s 113 universities.
Oxford Brookes is placed 53rd overall – up from 59th position last year.
The overall rank is based on nine indicators, including student satisfaction, research and graduate employment.
Commenting on the strong showing made by modern universities in the top half of the table, the Independent singled out Oxford Brookes, among others: "Last year's Complete University Guide showed the binary divide to be more or less intact. Although this year's still has the bulk of the new universities concentrated in the bottom half of the table and the 'old' universities in the top half, the line separating the two is much less clearly delineated now. Hertfordshire, Nottingham Trent, Robert Gordon, Ulster, Oxford Brookes and Bournemouth Universities are all in the top half of the main league table."
