Stone tools discovered in Arabia dating from as far back as 125,000 years ago suggest our earliest ancestors left Africa 50,000 years earlier than previously thought.
Changes in climate which led to sea levels being over 100m lower than today would have narrowed a crossing point between Africa and Arabia for our species.
