Three chancellors in conversation
Friday 17 October 2008, 18:00 to 19:30, Main Hall
Shami Chakrabarti, Jon Snow and Baroness Kennedy
In the keynote lecture of this series three of the UK's most prominent voices in the domain of politics and human rights exchange views before a select audience.
Brookes’ new Chancellor, Shami Chakrabarti, is nationally known as a campaigner for human rights and Director of Liberty. In her first public lecture, she is joined by two ex Chancellors; celebrated broadcaster Jon Snow, who recently completed seven years of service to Brookes and Baroness Kennedy, barrister, member of the House of Lords and Chancellor from 1993 - 2001. None of them are known for a reluctance to express opinion on current issues, and will welcome questions from the audience.
Admission by ticket only.
There will be the opportunity to donate to the postgraduate scholarship established by the University in the name of Jon Snow, in recognition of his work when Chancellor.
