BROOKESkey smartcard options

 From September 2009
Unlimited travel on Brookesbus services, with outstanding discounts on other local bus and intercity coach services. Visit www.brookesbus.org for further information.  Please note - the BROOKESKey is a smartcard travel pass which can be used on the BROOKESbus.  Smartcards are plastic cards that look like credit cards; they are read by a special machine when you board the bus.

From April 2012 all holders of a BROOKESkey regardless if they have a product on them or not can access the following offers:

  • Discount £1 single ticket available on City and Park&Ride services when drivers are shown a BROOKESkey. (Available inside the Smartzone) (Available on Oxford Bus Company Services)
  • Discount £1 single tickets on some Stage Coach Services when drivers are shown a BROOKESkey
  • Discounted LHR Heathrow Period Return: £21
  • Discounted X90 London Period Return: £10
  • Discounted LGW Gatwick Period Return: £29
  • OBC-Only SmartZone (Oxford Zone) 12 trips for £12
  • All Zones 12 trip for £12

BROOKESbus smartcard options are available to purchase for staff through the interest free loan scheme.

Interest-free loan scheme

Interest free loans are available to permanent salaried staff for the purchase of travel passes and season tickets up to the value of £2000.  Repayments are made direct from payroll over 12 months.

Oxford Bus Company local services - Key (Smartcard) services

If you have purchased a time-based BrookesKey then you benefit from discounted fares on local services.

'Key' smartcards can be purchased from the Key Centre on the 3rd floor in Debenhams, or at www.oxfordkey.co.uk

All staff purchasing the following annual passes through the transport team at Brookes are entitled to the Brookes staff discount:

  •            Smartzone passes,
  •            South Oxfordshire Passes,
  •            X90
  •            Abingdon Route pass 
  •            Stage coach mega rider and gold rider passes

Staff purchasing a 13 week South Oxfordshire Zone pass are also entitled to a Brookes staff discount.

The discount is only available if ordered via Stafflink; please contact the Transport Team  01865 484647 or transport@brookes.ac.uk. Annual season tickets to the value of £2000 are also available to purchase through the interest free loan scheme

The Londoner: Oxford Tube fare + £1 covers any Stagecoach bus to any destination in Oxford or Oxfordshire.
