Successful bid for large-scale research project 'Inter-professional Education and Collaborative Practice'

The Westminster Institute of Education and the School of Health and Social Care have been awarded £19,000 from the Central Research Fund for the above research project.

The bid brings together colleagues from the two schools to support the construction of an authoritative literature base that will underpin a large‑scale external research bid to examine inter‑professional learning and professional collaborative practice in the context of complex multi‑professional working in the Health, Social Care, and Education Services. The staged construction of an integrated literature review will be reinforced by a series of four seminars.

The staff team comprises Linet Arthur, Alan Floyd, and Georgina Glenny from Westminster Institute and Netta Lloyd Jones, Gail Lansdown/Sharon Vitali, Ann Ewens and Sharon Mickan from Health & Social Care. The overall planning and direction of activities will be led jointly by Marlene Morrison and Liz Westcott (Health and Social Care).

There were more than 50 bids received, and 23 were funded. Westminster Institute’s Research Panel prioritised 3 of the highest quality bids and these were put forward for the University's consideration.
