About us

About us

about usOxford Brookes University has a national, indeed international, reputation as a premier learning and teaching institution and we in Estates and Facilities Management provide the full range of support services to the whole University. In one way or another our services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the full 52 weeks of the year.

As a consequence of this, EFM staff have more day-to-day contact with other staff, students and visitors than most of the University and as such we are very well placed to deliver a truly customer centred service, customers being staff, students and visitors alike.

As the University looks to move ahead, we as a Directorate are embarking upon the Estate Masterplan, with the redevelopment of the Estate across all three campuses, starting with Gipsy Lane. This is called ‘Space To Think’ and the vision underpinning this is a commitment to both quality and environmental sustainability. We want the experience of our customers (staff, students and visitors) to reflect the quality of design and the quality of the services we provide.

The new landmark building at Gipsy Lane will be one that we can all point to with pride. We want to incorporate the latest technologies aimed at environmental sustainability and we are consulting widely on the most effi cient teaching and working practices so that the building we deliver will not simply meet our current needs but will also enhance our reputation into the future.

We are starting this journey together which will be both exciting and challenging, and which will result in a dynamic range of new facilities for the whole University.

Our mission, launched in July 2008 is that by "2020 Oxford Brookes will be the University campus that others aspire to".
