Food and drink, and the rituals surrounding their consumption, lie at the very heart of our cultures. Through academic enquiry, educational provision and consultancy, Oxford Gastronomica, a specialist centre for the study of food, drink and culture, works to enhance our relationship with food and drink, and to celebrate their place in our lives.
Oxford Gastronomica is a virtual network through which likeminded institutions and individuals can share their passion for the culture of food and wine. It is an open and accessible organisation, bringing together the public, academics, students, food industry professionals and those working in the creative arts.
Through Oxford Gastronomica, the Oxford School of Hospitality Management hold a number of exclusive events to celebrate the study of food, drink and culture, including a number of lecture series hosted by the patrons of the organisation and educational projects with partner institutions in locations such as Burgundy and Transylvania.
