Dr Lucy Ford, Senior Lecturer in International Relations for the Department of Social Sciences, delivered the first ever lecture in the John Henry Brookes Building’s landmark ‘floating’ lecture theatre this morning.

Lucy Ford delivered ‘Contemporary Issues in World Politics’ to an eager class of students, in the breathtaking new lecture theatre that appears to hang above the open-plan forum in the hub of the new building.
"It was a pleasure and a privilege to teach here this morning. The new lecture theatre makes for a really comfortable space to work in. The tiered seating is pitched exactly right, enabling easy contact with the students, as well as providing students with great visibility. A great learning environment for years to come!"
The new John Henry Brookes Building opened this morning to excited staff and students and continuing the ‘Space to Think’ vision with exemplary teaching and library spaces. Full teaching in the space will commence week beginning 3 March 2014.
