Webpage statistics

Introduction

The below form allows you to generate statistics for a particular page, or pages, stored on the Brookes Web server. The statistics are obtained from the server log file, which keeps a record of every visit made to the Brookes Web site.

Using this form you are able to determine the exact number of times a particular page(s) has been visited and from where it has been viewed (e.g. Academic, commercial or network sites and even from which country). The General Statistics section is a useful option, since it produces a graphical summary of the statistics associated with a particular page(s). You can limit the search to specific dates, files, or even countries. So you could determine, for example, the number of Japanese visitors that have viewed the "Research Home Page" during the period from 1st November to 6th November. You can also specify whether you wish to limit the statistics generation process to report only visitors from outside of the University (this is the default).

Note that the log file is archived and then deleted at the end of each month. If you wish to obtain a full monthly report you should generate your statistics on the last working day of the month, although it might be an idea to try and do it one day before that.

The Form

You can set any options you like below. However they are all set to sensible default values, so you can ignore those that you do not wish to explicitly specify.
