English language qualifications
For the Foundation and Pre-Master's pathway we will only accept the English language qualifications approved by the UK Border Agency (UKBA) including IELTS and the TOEFL Internet-based Test. For the full list please visit the UK Border Agency website.
English language placement test
If you are applying for University English and you have not taken one of the UKBA's approved tests, you can complete our placement test and return this with your application form.
Please note: If you are applying with the placement test, to meet new visa regulations you will now also need to submit an academic reference (in English) which indicates your proficiency level in English language skills. The reference should be from the Principal, Director of Studies or equivalent of your last school or college. It should state the number of hours of study per week, years of study and your achievements in the way of tests or qualifications.
If you are offered a place on Univeristy English Level 1 by the placement test we will contact you to request that you take an additional UKBA approved test.
What happens next?
Your application will be considered by our admissions team and you will be contacted within 5-10 working days. If we do not receive all the required documents to complete our decision making process or we require additional evidence of your English language level, we will also inform you of this.
You will need to accept the offer and pay the minimum deposit of £400 to guarantee your place.
When should I apply?
There is no fixed application deadline, but you should apply as soon as possible to allow time for the application process and for you to obtain a visa, if necessary. We recommend that you allow at least 5-10 working days for the application process depending on the time of year.
If you require university accommodation, there will be an earlier deadline. You will need to have an unconditional offer by the accommodation deadline.
Applications from Nigeria
Due to the high number of applications that we receive, we can only accept applications for Oxford Brookes International pathway courses from Nigeria through an Oxford Brookes representative.
