Students from the USA have been coming to Oxford Brookes for many years and we currently have 101 North American students enrolled at the University

We are the UK's leading modern university, and with our innovative teaching methods and the support we offer our students you will achieve results that internationally respected and a degree that will open doors in the global employment market.

Our North American students enjoy a wide range of subjects at the University, including Primate Conservation, Publishing, English Studies, Motorsport Engineering and History.

Study Abroad

We welcome North American students who wish to come for one or two semesters on our Study Abroad programme.

  • A pass in the High School Diploma

  • IELTS 4.5
  • TOEFL IBT 53
Foundation
  • Senior High School and hold a Certificate with a minimum of 70% in each subject.

From:

  • IELTS 5.0 (with 5.0 in all skills) to IELTS 6.5 (with 6.0 in all skills)
  • GCSE / O-level grade C or above
  • TOEFL IBT 61-90

  • High School Diploma with 3.0/3.2 GPA plus ONE of the following:
    1. Combined SAT score 1,700/1,800
    2. ACT – average score between 27/30
    3. 3 Advanced Placement (AP) tests with a score of 3+
  • International Baccalaureate 28-33 points
  • First year of a Bachelor’s degree in the US, Canada, Australia or the UK
  • A-levels
If you have already completed a higher education level qualification in the USA you may be able to transfer this to one of our undergraduate courses.
  • IELTS 6.0-7.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in reading and writing
  • GCSE / O-level grade C and above (not for second or final year entry onto Business degrees)
  • TOEFL IBT 80-100

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor degree with a GPA of 2.5 or above

Diploma:

  • IELTS 5.5 (with 5.0 in reading and writing)
  • TOEFL PBT 523, IBT 69-70

Certificate:

  • IELTS 6.0 (with 5.5 in reading and 6.0 in writing)
  • TOEFL IBT 79-80
Postgraduate taught
  • A good honours bachelor’s degree
  • For MBA you must also have 3 years professional work experience
  • IELTS 6.0 to 7.0 or equivalent (6.5 for LLM/Psychology)
  • TOEFL IBT 80-100
Postgraduate research
  • Postgraduate master’s degree or good honours bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject
  • IELTS 6.0 to 7.0 or equivalent
  • TOEFL 80-100 IBT
