All aboard the Brookes Bus!

A Brookes Bus in OxfordGetting you from A to B quickly and cheaply, the Brookes Bus service links all three campuses with the halls of residence, Oxford city centre and local supermarkets.

Free Brookes bus passes are available to students living in halls of residence because those residing in halls are not able to keep a car.

If you live off campus you can buy a student pass which will last for the academic year. In return you will enjoy unlimited travel on all Brookes Bus routes (except after midnight) and discounted travel on various other Stagecoach and Oxford Bus Company routes. See the Brookes Bus website for details.

Safety buses

Students' Union safety busOur Safety Buses travel to all halls of residence or anywhere within Oxford's ring road from 9.00pm until 3.00am Monday to Saturday and 9.00pm until 1.00am on Sundays. Sponsored by local businesses and passenger donations, they're run by the Students' Union and the buses are driven by a dedicated team of volunteers. The safety buses have gained widespread recognition, not least from the Home Office, through their student crime reduction initiative. For more information see the Students' Union website.

Walking and cycling

For those who live off campus, there are designated walking and cycle routes to the University. Detailed information about travelling between campuses can be found on our travel pages. There are showers available for all cyclists at each of the three main campuses. Subsidised on-site cycle maintenance is offered weekly at the Gipsy Lane site.
