Euromonitor Passport GMID (Global Market Information Database) provides market research reports and company profiles for world markets. Global market reports are also available. Most reports cover consumer goods and services, but industrial markets are covered in Major Market Profiles for France, Germany, UK and USA.
Country reports, profiles, commentary and consumer lifestyle reports are also available. The latter cover: population, consumer segmentation, regional development, home ownership, household profiles, labour, income, consumer expenditure, health, education, eating, drinking, shopping, personal grooming, fashion, leisure, personal finance, media, communication, transport, travel and tourism. Many emerging markets are covered as well as leading economies.
Company profiles, although brief, are useful because they indicate the companies that are active and important in their particular markets and give an outline of strategic direction and competitive positioning.

Euromonitor works in it's own unique way. There are many features that are difficult to describe in writing, so we recommend that you look at the exercise on using this database in our Virtual Learning Course "A guide to using business and economics databases", which covers most (not all) of the business databases. Every student and member of staff can register themselves by consulting the page on the Virtual Learning Course at: http://www.brookes.ac.uk/library/business/virtuallearning.html
However, for your convenience we have linked the exercise from here: https://www2.brookes.ac.uk/library/resources/How_to_use_Euromonitor.pdf
This document is on the intranet, off campus users will have to enter their Brookes username and password to enter. Register for the course if you want to check the self-test results
Contact a member of the subject team at businesslibrarians@brookes.ac.uk if you have difficulties.
