EndNote
EndNote is a service which allows you to collect, store and manage your own collection of references. You can insert these references automatically into Word documents, such as dissertations, essays and reports, and create bibliographies in the style of your choice. You can also transfer references from many databases straight into EndNote.
There are two versions of EndNote:- EndNote desktop – a software version installed on all university networked PCs and also available to buy for home use.
- EndNote Web - allows you to create a web-based Library of references which you can access from wherever you are. It is available to all Oxford Brookes staff, researchers and students free of charge, but you must register first.
EndNote desktop or Web - which version should I use? There are differences in functionality between EndNote and EndNote Web. To check if EndNote Web will meet your needs, go to the Thomson Reuters web site which gives an in-depth comparison of the versions.
Can I use both desktop and Web versions? Yes, references can be transferred from your EndNote desktop library to EndNote Web and vice versa, so you can use both products if you wish. See our guide for how to transfer references between the two versions.
On these pages, you'll find information and help on both versions.
