Enquiry services and library counters
All libraries operate enquiry services to help you
- use the Library Catalogue
- find your way around the Library
- make good use of printed and electronic sources of information
Headington Library enquiry desk is in the South Library immediately in front of you as you come into the Library. Staff at the enquiry desk can provide general help and assistance, but may refer you for more in-depth help to your Subject Librarian.
Wheatley Library enquiry desk is near the Statistics Collection, beyond the issue counter. It is normally staffed, during semester, Monday - Friday 11.00 - 17.00. At all other times, general help and assistance can be obtained from the staff at the issue counter. In-depth help is available from your Subject Librarian.
Harcourt Hill Library enquiry desk is to the left inside the Library entrance. It is normally staffed, during semester, Monday - Friday 11.00 - 17.00. At all other times, general help and assistance can be obtained from the staff at the issue counter. In-depth help is available from your Subject Librarian.
We also operate an Electronic Enquiry service and provide library guides to help you make good use of the Library, its services and resources.
Library counters
As well as borrowing and returning material, the following services are usually available:
- credit payments to your charge account (for printing and HallNet)
- portal password issue (upon production of your staff/student ID card)
- change for photocopying cards
- sale of computer consumables (eg memory sticks) and transparencies for use in the photocopiers
- lost property
