Bodleian Library
The Bodleian Library is the main research library of the University of Oxford. It is also a copyright deposit library and its collections are used by scholars from around the world. This is a reference only library.
As a member of Oxford Brookes University, you may apply to join the Bodleian Library if you are in one of the following categories:
- Undergraduate students on degree courses in semester 2 of year 2, or in years 3 and/or 4, engaged on honours level dissertation or project work
- ERASMUS exchange students
- Taught postgraduate students
- Postgraduate research students
- Staff
Applying for admission to the Bodleian Library
Undergraduate, ERASMUS and postgraduate taught students should use the Bodleian Library Recommendation form (Word and PDF) and should follow the procedures outlined in our guide Applying for admission to the Bodleian Library (Word and PDF).
Postgraduate research students and Brookes staff should follow the procedures outlined on the Bodleian Library Admissions webpages, using Form A and should apply in person directly to the Bodleian Admissions Office.
University of Oxford faculty and departmental libraries
Some University of Oxford faculty and departmental libraries also offer facilities (usually reference only) for Oxford Brookes University students. Access is variable and prior permission is usually necessary, so please check with your Subject Librarian.
