Evening and weekend services

Our busiest times in the Library normally occur during weekdays, and our policy is to provide the maximum level of staffing at these times, in order to meet this demand. These core hours are the times at which the highest level of services and facilities to Library users can be provided.

However, we also provide regular staffed services outside these core periods (see our opening times information), as well as other periods when we are open for self-service only.

When library staff are present, they will always endeavour to provide the best service they can within resource constraints. However, evening and weekend staff may not always be in a position to deal fully with all your enquiries, particularly more complex ones, which they will refer to the appropriate member of Library staff to deal with during core hours.
