Studying in the Library
Our libraries offer a range of study facilities to cater for your needs at different times. These include areas for silent and quiet study, individual and group study rooms, plus clusters of PCs from which to access electronic information resources.
Mobile phones
We do not ban mobile phones if they are being used in a responsible manner. If you wish to talk to your friends (face-to-face or face-to-phone) please do this on staircase landings or outside the Library. You should turn your phone ringer off as this is often the most disturbing aspect of phones. Mobile phones must be switched off and not used in those parts of the Library designated as Silent Study areas.
For those with children
Whilst we cannot accept responsibility for your children within the Library, we appreciate that there may be occasions, particularly during school holidays, when you need to bring them with you to the Library. We ask you to supervise your children properly and to ensure that they do not disturb other Library users. Please note that children under the age of 16 years should not be left unaccompanied.
