Plant endomembrane research group

golgi on ERThe plant endomembrane research group is one of the major groups within the Department of Biological & Medical Sciences at Oxford Brookes University. The main themes of the research are the organisation of the endoplasmic reticulum, structure and function of the ER-Golgi interface and the role of Golgi matrix/tethering proteins. The group works closely with members of the Evans Group who work on the plant nuclear envelope and the Runions group who work on the dynamics of plasma membrane proteins and their interactions with the cell wall and cytoskeleton.

We also have considerable expertise in immunocytochemistry (LM and EM) and have established a high pressure freezing facility for electron microscopy and a new high resolution scanning EM facility for serial block face imaging and reconstruction..
