Details of my research
Professor James’ recent research interests have spanned a range of issues within the fields of human resource management and occupational health and safety. These include:
- Absence and disability management
- Human resource strategies of multinational companies
- The legal duties of company director’s in relation to workplace health and safety
- Links between job retention and vocational rehabilitation
- Health and safety management in small firms
- Worker involvement and participation
- Changing people management in local government
Professor James is the Deputy Editor of the refereed journal, Policy and Practice in Health and Safety and he is Visiting Professor at Middlesex University. He has also acted as a Specialist Adviser to the Work and Pensions Select Committee.
