Oxford Brookes University holds the European Commission’s HR Excellence in Research award. This recognises the University’s commitment to supporting the personal, professional and career development of its researchers and acknowledges its alignment with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for their Recruitment. It incorporates both the QAA Code of Practice for Research Degree programmes and the 2008 Concordat to Support Career Development of Researchers.
In order to achieve the award, in 2012 we undertook a careful gap analysis, mapped against the principles of the Concordat and developed a detailed action plan for going forward. This was carefully reviewed, revised and ratified in 2014 and 2016. At each stage of review, researchers from across the university were consulted and involved in the process. Our original 2012 submission and our 2014 and 2016 supporting statements and action plans, which were subject to external evaluation and benchmarking, may be viewed via the links on the right. ⇒
