Able, Gifted and Talented Co-ordinators
Co-ordinators are often expected to fulfil a number of roles and
functions in schools, including:
- serving as resident expert on gifted
and talented issues
- providing colleagues with support,
advice and in-service training
- advising on or drafting school policy
on gifted and talented pupils
- liaising with senior managers and
governors within your school, and LEA, cluster or partnership
colleagues outside it
- providing or co-ordinating pastoral
support for able, gifted and talented pupils
- managing resources
- co-ordinating events
- talking to parents and guardians.
If you are co-ordinating provision for able, gifted and talented
pupils in your school, you will find all the units of professional
development material relevant to your role. You will also
find the Launchpad briefings
useful, both for your own information and as overview documents
to share with colleagues.
