The
RSA’s Curriculum Network Seminars
The RSA’s Opening Minds project (1999-2002) fostered
a number of secondary school-based pilots implementing an
alternative teaching and learning model that incorporates
National Curriculum content within a competence-based framework.
The pilots revitalised participating teachers’ professional
practice and achieved positive results for all ability groups
(including the more able). The approach was found to be especially
beneficial in pupils’ transition from primary to secondary
school.
For more details, and information about the RSA’s Curriculum
Network Seminars (Summer 2005), see http://www.thersa.org/newcurriculum/seminars.asp
