Microsoft Select 6 (staff only)

Microsoft Select 6 is a volume licensing programme for use by staff at Brookes. This allows schools and directorates to purchase perpetual licences for Microsoft software for use within Brookes. In addition, some of the most popular Microsoft software is provided to schools and directorates as part of the University's Campus Agreement site licence.

Orders
All orders must be placed through Melissa Day in Computer Services.

Media
One copy of each Select CD is kept in the Information Office (AG18) at Gipsy Lane. A selection of the most popular software is held on \\brookesc3, \\brookesc4 and \\brookesc5 for download. The media may be borrowed by authorised IT Support staff once a purchase order has been submitted.

Versions
The licence you purchase permits you to use the current or a previous version of the software. It does not allow you to upgrade when newer versions become available.

Right to copy
IT staff are allowed to make copies of the software (licences purchased from Melissa Day).

Work at home rights
Please refer to Campus Agreement.

Evaluation
You can evaluate any product under the Evaluation Select Programme for up to 60 days. You must then either buy a licence or delete the software.

Staff and student personal purchases
These are not part of the Select agreement. Reduced prices are offered by a number of approved suppliers See the Software & Licensing web page.
