The following list includes details of university licences for Brookes-owned computers, licences that allow free or discounted home use as well as educational discounts offered by a number of suppliers.

For students & staff

Sophos Anti-Virus
Available free for home use by staff and students.

EndNote (link to Brookes library pages)
Discounted price for home use of this bibliographic software.

SPSS Statistical software
Available free for home use by staff and students. The installation CD can be borrowed free-of-charge from the libraries.
The SPSS Copyright Acknowledgment Agreement form must be filled in and handed back to the person who distributed the software, ie. the Library staff or IT Support.

There are many freely available alternatives that will do the job as well as, and in some cases better, than proprietary programs.

For staff

Microsoft Campus Agreement
Annual site licence for some of Microsoft's key products (for Brookes computers) including the provision of software to allow staff to work at home.

Microsoft Select
Special prices for software not included in the above (for Brookes computers & servers).

NVIVO software
Available free for home use by staff. The installation CD can be borrowed free-of-charge from the Information Office.
The Copyright Acknowledgment Agreement form for Eduserv Chest Software must be filled in and handed back to the person who distributed the software, ie. the IT Support.

A Microsoft sponsored promotion for Windows 7 Home Premium and Office Ultimate 2007 which is now available for staff for home use.

Adobe
Available to staff through Pugh Computers. Use the CLP3 non-concurrent tariff and purchase through your administrator or IT support staff in the usual way. Contact Dave Nolan (ext 3341) in Computer Services for further details.
